This is a simple skirt to make, and you can use this pattern to turn the doll's top into a dress, which I'll explain more further down.
Pattern
Use the same yarn and and needle size for the skirt as you did for the doll, especially if you want to make this the skirt of a dress.
Make 4 chain stitches (ch). Leave the end long enough to sew a few stitches.
Row 1: Start in the second stitch from the needle. 3 single crochet stitches (sc) [3]
Row 2-42: Turn around. 1 ch, 3 sc [3]
This is the belt that will go around the belly. Turn the belt over and continue along the side instead.
Round 1: 3 ch (this will count as your first double crochet stitch), 41 double crochet stitches (dc). Close the circle with a slip stitch in the last chain stitch [42]
Round 2: 3 ch, 5 dc, increase (inc), *6 dc, inc* 5 times, close with 1 ch [48]
Round 3: 3 ch, 6 dc, increase (inc), *7 dc, inc* 5 times, close with 1 ch [54]
Round 4: 3 ch, 7 dc, increase (inc), *8 dc, inc* 5 times, close with 1 ch [60]
Round 5: 3 ch, 8 dc, increase (inc), *9 dc, inc* 5 times, close with 1 ch [66]
Round 6: 3 ch, 9 dc, increase (inc), *10 dc, inc* 5 times, close with 1 ch [72]
Round 7: 3 ch, 10 dc, increase (inc), *11 dc, inc* 5 times, close with 1 ch [78]
Round 8: 3 ch, 11 dc, increase (inc), *12 dc, inc* 5 times, close with 1 ch [84]
Round 9: 3 ch, 12 dc, increase (inc), *13 dc, inc* 5 times, close with 1 ch [90]
Round 10: 3 ch, 13 dc, increase (inc), *14 dc, inc* 5 times, close with 1 ch [96]
Round 11: 3 ch, 14 dc, increase (inc), *15 dc, inc* 5 times, close with 1 ch [102]
Round 12: *skip 1 stitch, 4 dc in the same stitch, skip 1 stitch, 1 slip stitch* 25 times, 2 half double in the same stitch, end with a slip stitch.
Weave in the end.
This skirt is designed to be taken off. If you want to sew it on to give the doll a permanent dress, you can replace the belt with 42 ch that you close to a circle with a slip stitch. Then continue with round 1. When the skirt is done, sew on the skirt to the body. Using a chain instead of the belt will give a more seamless transition. However, you can also make the belt as a separate piece in a different color and sew on as decoration to hide the seam between the skirt and the body.
